Midale/Cymri Fire and Rescue & First Responders
Midale Cymri Fire and Rescue & First Responder currently have 13 dedicated volunteer firefighters, seven of who are also licensed as Medical First Responders. Our team provides emergency services to the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
We respond to a wide variety of emergencies, including motor vehicle collisions, structure fires, grass and wildland fires, gas alarms and medical emergencies such as heart attacks, stroke, seizures and other critical situations.
In 1996, Medical First Responders were trained, licensed and incorporated into our emergency response team, providing an additional level of medical support to our community. This service has become an important part of our emergency response system, allowing trained responders to provide immediate care while awaiting additional medical resources.
Our firefighters participate in continuous training to maintain the knowledge, skills and certifications required by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA). Similarly, our Medical First Responders complete ongoing education and training to maintain their licensing requirements through the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.
Every member of our team is dedicated, professional and committed to serving our community. We take great pride in being there for our neighbors during some of the most difficult and unexpected moments of their lives.
Being a volunteer firefight or first responder requires unique level of compassion, courage, commitment and resilience. Our members are often called up to respond to traumatic situations that may involve neighbors, friends or even family members. Despite the challenges they may face, they continue to answer the call because they believe in helping others and making a difference.
We are proud to serve our community and to be there when people need us most - helping to makes someone's worst day just a little better.
If you would like to support our local hero's donations are accepted at the R.M of Cymri Office at 52 Main Street, Midale Sk. Or by email to rm36assistant@sasktel.net
